Today I’m in Tucson for some training and I was looking forward to running in a different neighborhood for a change.\u00c2\u00a0 I planned to head away from my hotel, towards Sabino Canyon, and see how far I got before it was time to turn around.\u00c2\u00a0 Although I did that, I have no idea how close or far I was because I managed to do my whole run BEFORE THE SUN CAME UP.<\/p>\n
It was pitch dark the whole time.\u00c2\u00a0 I remembered, while I was out, that Tucson is near an observatory and therefore, they have a great deal of restrictions on city lights.\u00c2\u00a0 Apparently, the restriction includes street lights.\u00c2\u00a0 I was jogging along a very busy street, but it was absolutely dark whenever there were no cars.\u00c2\u00a0 That made for a very interesting, treacherous, and somewhat slower-than-normal run, but it was still nice and nothing really bad actually happened, so it’s all good.\u00c2\u00a0 I will just need to come up with a better plan for tomorrow ’cause I’m not doing that again!<\/p>\n
I averaged 10:41 minute miles which far exceeds my speed goal, so I’m very satisfied with today’s run of nearly five miles.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
