DAY ONE HUNDRED THIRTY-SIX – CROSS TRAINING – 3 1/2 HOURS

Holy Cow, was this a stupid idea!  I have a networking meeting every month that takes place 17 miles from my home.  About 4 times a year or so, I ride my bicycle to the meeting and back, for exercise, and also to be a weirdo that people are more likely to remember from the networking meeting.  So, it’s not like I’ve never done this before, but man, I should not have done this during the last week of my Marathon training.  I only have one more run left before the big event, and I may just go ahead and skip it, to be sure to have enough rest in, but I’ll see how I feel in two days.  I have to say, though, with all this Marathon training, my 34-mile bike ride today was really pretty manageable AND I had 16 pounds of books with me on the way home because someone remembered I asked them to bring me a ton of books.  Yikes!  I’m totally amazed I didn’t break a spoke, but I guess I used to weigh more than 16 pounds more than I do now, and I rode the bike, then, too, so I guess it has already proven it can take the weight!
