Today was Day Two of the two-day seminar I like to ride my bike to. I already knew that my headlight was out and that my charger was at work, so I knew I’d have to ride home without a headlight, but the seminar ends at 6, so I thought it would still be light enough to make it home, so I didn’t worry about it. During the day, I didn’t feel well, and when the seminar ended it was not actually light out, so I called Jon to come get me. I only got one bike ride in and I was going to feel badly about cutting my cross-training in half, but then I remembered that my marathon training schedule only calls for one hour of cross training to begin with, so the second hour was gonna be extra anyhow, so I didn’t worry about it. The ride in to the seminar was lovely, though, and I once again went through Papago Park for part of the ride, which adds about an extra .4 mile and an unknown amount of extra burned calories because the path in the park goes up and down and up and down, and it’s about a mile or two stretch that you have to constantly shift gears, sometimes riding in the very lowest gear, just to make it to the top of a hill. I saw a couple of bunnies and a handful of lizards in the park and that always makes the exercising more fun.
