DAY EIGHTY – CROSS TRAINING – FOUR HOURS

I rode my bicycle about 18 miles to a meeting this morning, then rode it about 18 miles back home.  It took me about an hour and 40 minutes each way.  I made a disturbing observation when I was almost home.  I had been listening to my “Marathon Playlist” on my MP3 player the whole time and I never did hear the whole thing, which means that on marathon day, I will be running for longer than I rode my bike today, and that thought is pretty terrifying considering that riding a bike is easier than running, to begin with, and the fact that the ride was split into two sections with a 2-hour break in between, during which I ate a lovely, satsfying hot meal, which, most certainly, will not be happening on marathon day.  So, if I thought today was hard – and I do – marathon day is gonna be way, way worse.  Yikes!
