DAY ONE HUNDRED TWELVE – CROSS TRAINING – 45 MINUTES

I don’t know if anyone is actually reading this blog or not, but for anyone who has been watching, I hadn’t made an entry here in almost 2 weeks. I have several excuses, all of which are, excuses, but in case you’re interested, here goes…

1. It has gotten very cold here in Phoenix. What that has to do with blog entries, I don’t exactly know, but it has made it very hard for me to get up in the mornings. I have been running late almost every day for the past two weeks, and when I get home, our house is too cold for me to want to do anything much but go to bed.

2. The Marathon training tasks continue to get harder. My runs now take more time to prepare for, more time to complete, and more time to recover from. Consequently, that leaves less time for writing blogs. Add that to the fact that I’m moving more slowly because of the cold, and you end up with two weeks going by with no entries.

3. The Holiday Season is here. Holiday tasks are taking up what little time I have to spare and blog entries got pushed to the back burner in favor of getting my Christmas Cards out before Easter.

4. Last, but not least, of my excuses, my training has been slipping a little bit. Not much, mind you, but some, and maybe I haven’t wanted to look at that very closely for fear of becoming alarmed or discouraged. However, I seriously think it’s not too far out of whack and I think catching up on my entries will support that.

That said, I will try to catch up now by reconstructing the past two weeks. That may count as my ‘cross training’ for today, but I also know that that’s just more training slippage. I will try to think of something, before today expires, that will count as real cross training for me for today.
